Joe 2011
« on: March 23, 2011, 08:49:07 AM »

Hi guyz

Thought I would just say, that I fell great things are gonna be happening for our Joe this year.
I still can't believe I saw him live and had my photo taken with him last Friday, and I showd him my tattoo, which he was really impressed with.
I think this year will see Joe take a change in direction, somehow, wethere it be a management and record label change ord whatever, I think he is destined for fab things in the future!
I will always support him, I love him to bits and have so much Joe memoborilia in my Joe room, now plus I now have 30 copies of "Wide Awake"!!!! Some may think Im crazy but I will do all I can to support Joe!!!
He has a brilliant future ahead of him, he is still young and we deffo have not seen the last of our KING!
Love him
x

Sadly, hooly, you probably own half the albums that Joe sold. I really hope you are correct in predicting a change in direction for Joe. His current management team has been inept at best, and totally incompetent at worst. I was beginning to wonder whether Joe was still alive as the "silence has been deafening" on this forum and in the press.

Why is it everybody has to focus on the negative?
You can't believe everything you read in the papers, and so what if Joe has moved back home?
it's not a big deal.
Think positive, there is a lot which can happen, as yet.
As I said, Joe is still very young and we should all look to the good things.

The papers should be taken with a pinch of salt. They do this EVERY TIME. Build someone up...then run them down. Joe never totally moved out in the first place - he had a London base for the purpose of work but he always saw South Shields as home. Angry

I hope you are right about this year. I've thought for a long time that Simon's been saving Joe for the US market & wants to show him off on the US X Factor but the wait is painful!!!

Syco finally speaks out:
And he insisted: “Joe is working on stuff at the minute that is very exciting but we can’t talk about just yet.”

Thank you for posting. It's about time they started showing a bit more public support for him!
Let's hope they do a LOT more of it when this exciting project, whatever it may be, surfaces. Roll Eyes

More of the same rehashed:
http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/entertainment/music/news/x-factor-winner-joe-mcelderry-teams-up-with-jedward-15140196.html

From the article:

So where did it all go wrong for McElderry and can the cute wannabe crawl his way back?

Some insiders believe McElderry's decision to announce that he was gay might have gone against him in his US bid for stardom.

It is understood he had a string of meetings in the US |last year, including one with a Disney executive, but nothing came from them.

According to one source, his coming out was seen as detrimental to a career with squeaky-clean Disney.

However, others believe he has been let down by his management, Cowell and his mentor Cheryl Cole.

His debut album didn't set the charts alight and his last single only made it to number 68 in the charts.

It's not known if he is planning to release any more material.

Whatever the reasons for his lack of success, it seems unfair that a teenage boy was promised so much, yet so little was delivered.

At the time of his victory, Cowell announced: “I remember the first time I saw you and I remember telling the other three judges, ‘This guy could actually win the show’.

“I feel responsible for your success and very proud of everything you’ve achieved.”

I wonder does he feel so responsible now?

I don't believe the whole Disney thing anyway, Joe only went to NY once for a few days, who knows what it was about.  Fox were still very happy to have Joe singing the soundtrack to childrens Narnia film.

Management, promotion and the direction/overproduction on the album is the major problems I believe.
