Joe's Future
« on: December 12, 2010, 04:57:45 PM »

Well, it certainly looks like SWMU is not going to chart but I, for one minute don't think Joe is at all washed up.
I think 2011 will see a change of management and record label, although it won't be instantly, and I think Joe will be taken in an entirely new direction.
He still has a huge army of loyal fans and he is a very talented young man, who certainly is not going to end up on the scrap heap.
Now, he needs all our support more than ever, and we should all be there to show our support.
I wish there was some way we could all let him know tht we are routing for him, I'm no good at this twitter lark, but I feel very let down by Simon Cowell and Syco, and Modest Management.
They should now be promoting Joe more than ever, but all they are interested in, is this years X Factor at the moment.
Joe is certainly not a one hit wonder and he probably needs a complete change of direction again.
Let me know what you all think.
We MUST go on supporting HIM !!!!!!!!
My Joe room continues to get bigger and better, and having my tattoo done was the best thing i could have done to show my loyalty this year.
How can we let him know how we feel?
please help, we need to start a Joe petition or something.

I believe Steve Brookstein's point of view in the article is actually right.  Since Brookstein's downfall Rhydian Roberts experienced more or less the same thing although he has since gone on to greater things now and has recently signed for a smaller label offering him free license to do basically anything he wants and is presently recording a new album due out in February - freedom of choice, in my opinion, is essential for any artist.  It's not only Joe who has received bad management from Cowell et al, I'm sorry to say it's the majority of XFactor contestants who do really well, go on tour, then . . . . nothing!  Lost into the abyss.  Rhydian was lucky because he had good sound backing from a good education, supportive parents with money and a strong mind for business.  Joe unfortunately appears to lack the ability to speak his mind and stick up for himself - in other words he is too nice for his own good!  I think he is signed to Cowell and Modest Management for two years (the Winner's Contract) so after this time has passed he needs to sever all ties with these large conglomerates and do his own thing - he is young and needs much experience and toughening up.  He will learn and I am convinced he will in the end come out on top and become really famous because he has a truly sensational voice which, of course, is the essential element.  His album did not do justice to his potential as a great artist - just my opinion guys!   Wink

I actually agree with what Steve says, never thought I would say that.

I think on a whole Syco are just a rubbish label and I want Joe to get out of there as soon as possible

I have to disagree though that Joe lacks the ability to stick up for himself, just because Joe doesn't publicly slate Syco or Simon does not mean he doesn't think it, he is under contract right now and part of the contract is to not say anything negative about Syco and it wouldn't be wise for Joe to be seen slagging off his label atm either.  But trust me, he is aware of what Syco are like, he is not naive or stupid and his family are aware too.

Joe may not be controversial either, but he has big ambitions and visions for his career, he is not going to let that go without a fight.  Thats all I will say on a public forum.

Another prime example of Joe being mis managed and not dealt with properly is "There's A Place Four Us" being put on the "B" side of "Someone Wake Me Up"
This should have been an "A" side single in it self, being the theme from the new "Narnia" movie and is absolutely wrong to be stuck on the B side of another single.
Joe would have had a big hit with this song and in my mind, the whole thinking process around it is crazy and make no sense at all.
2011 has got to see some big changes for Joe, in a more positive sense!!!!!!
I am livid!!!!!

OMG I am devastated  :'(  Since when has a WINNER OF XFACTOR not had full backing from a contractual obligation?  If this is really the case I am entirely disgusted with Cowell, Modest/Syco and everything else that quite honestly 'stinks' as far as Joe is concerned.

However, having got that off my chest so to speak, maybe this will open up a new path for Joe and someone else will make him an offer he can't refuse because he really has a superb voice, it grieves me to think how he has been 'sold down the river'  Angry  If Joe has been finding it difficult to take where was the guidance and backup support for him from his so called team - it was there for Susan Boyle, what about JOE!!!

Arrrgggggghhhhhhh  I am so upset guys  Sad

I think, that whatever happens, Joe will be steered in the right direction, and if he does lose the deal with Syco, I'm positive that some other major record label will snap him up.
He has so much talent, and a great deal of people know this, and know what he is capable of.
Joe still has an amazing future ahead of him, but maybe his music needs to go in a different direction.
"Wide Awake" is a brilliant album, but probably, not what a lot of people were expecting from Joe, and we all know he is capable of singing such a varied range of songs. With a voice like his, who wouldn't want to sign him up?
Stick with him everybody, he's wonderful

This story is copied from a Daily Star article.  Dan Wantoon (News of The World) tweeted to say the article was incorrect and a Syco spokesman had confirmed that Joe would be getting a 2nd album, Syco_News on twitter have retweeted Dan's tweets.  Unfortunately though no official statement has been released and lots of other media outlets, such as unrealitytv have reported the article also.

If you read the original article carefully, the choice of words are interesting.  At first reading it's a contradiction.  The article says Joe is out of contract, but has not been dropped.  We already know Joe has big meetings in January, so I would assume this would be when any contracts are signed decisions are made.

I would much prefer Joe to go with another label too.
