My Review of G-A-Y signing

I left work at 8pm yesterday to meet Addicted2Tea and Hunneyt (Michelle & Tascha), at GAY bar by 9pm, of course me and travel never run smoothly and the journey took slightly longer then it should do.  After getting a little bit lost on the tube, (as you do), I got to Leicester Square.  I was actually quite proud of the fact I got to GAY on time and found my way quite easily from the station.
I met Michelle and Tascha and we made our way inside, we then met Sharon (lovejoemc from twitter) and sexy12eyes also from twitter there.  We didn’t even bother to get a drink, we went straight up to buy “Ambitions” you were only meant to buy 2 copies per person, but the guy was allowing us to buy more.  I bought 3 copies to get signed, one for me and mum and one for Jenni who had asked me to get one for her.

Next we went upstairs where the signing was taking place, it was really packed and we couldn’t move much, so we just stood around bopping to the music. We could see some balloons in front of us and assumed that would be where Joe would be.
Coming up to 10pm Joe tweeted about being on his way, but typical Joe was slightly late.  I heard some people scream “JOE” so I figured he was there, but I couldn’t see him.  Everyone was standing in a huddle there was no actual queue, but it did start to move down eventually.

At one point I had to stand on one of them nice sofa type chair things they have in bars, I could then see Joe and he looked gorgeous as always.  I also noticed Vib and Eileen sitting in the corner, munching on chocolates that were on the table.
I finally got near the front of the “queue”, a guy who met Joe just before me gave a kettle as a present to Joe, Joe burst out laughing and said “you got us a kettle, oww I love it”, it was so cute, made me giggle.

The Climb came on and some people starting screaming, at one point loads of people were singing along.  Next they played Cheryl and Joe was sitting there singing along, tapping his hand on his knee, I found that sweet.  Joe I think is really passionate about singing and music and I love the fact even when he is busy doing a signing he still can’t stop singing.  A few songs later “Ambitions” came on, people starting clapping and I was singing along.  Vib got quite excited at this bit and got up and took a picture of Joe and one of the crowd, she did the little hand movement in the *Ambitions are already starting to fade ..........* bit, she does seem to really like Joe, as we have said there have been alot of issues with promo, maybe that is down to Syco or Modest on a whole, but I do think Vib genuinely wants Joe to do well and has his best interests at heart.
I noticed LiverpoolJoeFan there and said a quick hello to her and her mum.

Sharon got to see Joe before me and got her cuddle, picture, signed CD’s.  Sharon’s husband then said to Joe, “Hi Joe, *shakes hand* you are a pain in my [eggs], in mine and my wife’s life”, Joe said, I am sorry about that, then started laughing.
The security guy let me through to see Joe next, I passed my camera to the lady taking pictures for everyone and went up to Joe.  When I got near him his face lit up and he said, “Hiya Hayley”, I kind of looked at him for a second and was thinking, he didn’t just say my name did he, he couldn’t have, then I realised he definitely did so I said, “OMG you remember my name”, Joe was like “yeah course I do, I have a good memory”, I did a little scream which was totally embarrassing, then I think I said, “yeah you do”, we had a mini hug at this point.

I was actually shocked Joe remembered my name.  I only said my name twice on the radio tour, both times was when he was signing something, but I didn’t make myself known all week although I was there, if I had spoken to Joe everyday or got him to sign something with my name at every station I would have thought, fair enough he has marked me down in his little book of stalkers and fans to watch out for lol.
I asked for Joe to sign my CD’s, I said all the names I wanted him to sign, but when I looked later on I realised two look like they have been signed Joe, the other looks like scribble.  I said can I have a picture please Joe, of course he said yes and we posed for a picture, I said thanks again and Joe said, “thanks for your support Hayley, bye” and I was like “bye Joe”.

As soon as I got out of the crowd I was freaking out about Joe remembering my name.  I then looked through my pictures and noticed the woman had taken 3 of the most unflattering pictures you can ever imagine of me talking to Joe, my facial expressions are hilarious and I am deffo not posting, Joe is just looking at me and signing in them, so not brilliant ones of him, but he still looks amazing in the half of his head you can see lol.  I don’t know why she didn’t get the photo of us together, we both looked at the camera and were standing there long enough for her to get one, I also thought I saw a flash, perhaps it was someone else’s camera. I wasn’t too bothered about that though as I have photos already and was just so excited that he remembered my name.

We were told to wait outside, so we went downstairs to wait for Tascha and Michelle, they took a while to come down, must have been alot of people in front of them.  Tascha asked Joe whether he was knackered or something and he said yes, he had been up from 5.30am and was going partying afterwards, Tascha said a quick hello to Eileen too, it was Eileen that said hello first I believe.

And time to go home!  After queuing for so long on Sunday I never thought I would be happy to see other queue again, but I was happy there were people queuing to meet Joe, get a picture, signed CD etc, some people had presents for him too which I find sweet.
How Joe manages to look so gorgeous and be so lovely and friendly after being up for over 15 hours I will never know.  Whenever I am stupidly tired I get grouchy and I can’t concentrate on anything, I can’t remember my own name let alone of a fan that I have only spoken to very briefly.

I truly believe Joe loves all of his fans and appreciates our support.  I love the way Joe is with the fans; he is always the first to open his arms for a hug and things, so friendly and approachable.  I know this is a publicity event, so Joe is going to be nice, but I think he makes it easy for anyone nervous to meet him, he totally puts you at ease and goes out of his way.  It also shows that he takes an interest in the fans and actually listens to what you are saying, because if he didn’t he wouldn’t remember my name.

Meeting Joe just makes me want him to be successful even more, he is such a lovely, genuine guy as well as being extremely talented.  It must have been a stressful, scary, exciting week for Joe, he looked so happy yesterday.  Whether Joe is hiding his nerves I don’t know, but it made me think if Joe can smile so should I.  I am still a bit dishearted by the chart position and everything this week, but Joe makes me smile and I am going to try and stay positive for his sake.
OMG seriously I need to stop with these essays, I bet most people would sum up last night in one paragraph at most.

I bet other people could write it all in just one paragraph, but especially for me , still a 'outside-the-UK-guy', I just LOVE reading them.

and I agree with you, Yes it is a publicity thing, and Yes every other singer would be nice to fans, but there is a huge difference between acting nice, and BEING nice and caring.

He remembered your name! How genuinely caring and nice is that!

Thanks Hayzzz , brilliant review Grin

Aw brill review! Grin Looks like you had a great time!!! Cheesy

I saw Joe up here in Newcastle before he went down to London for the G-A-Y the signing and even though it was early he was still cracking jokes and having a laugh with us haha. Smiley He's just so lovely and recognises how much support all his fans give him.

And Hayley, we love the essays! Smiley
