X Factor winner Joe McElderry has been sending his mentor Cheryl Cole best wishes as she recovers from her bout of Malaria. Geordie Joe, 18, told me: "I sent her a text saying that I hope she gets well soon. And I've got an idea for a little gift I'll give her when she's better." Joe also told me to expect the unexpected when he launches his debut single on X Factor in the autumn: "It's not an album of ballads, there will be some dance tracks too," he said.

Dance music oooh, I wouldn’t think it would be clubby music, I would more say like Telephone or something more current.

I would love some ballads on the album, but some uptempo current songs would be brill to. So maybe a mix of Telephone style songs and pop rock. Grin

Well I think they will release his single first, so they could say it would be his debut single.. although that was of course the climb.. but never mind Grin
