I really have been quite worried about Cheryl's health.  At one stage it was reported she was hours from death because she had the most dangerous of all types of malaria - very serious indeed.  Fortunately she is apparently now on the road to recovery but it will take some time and she is still not 'out of the woods' yet.  Until this happened it appears she was working extreme hours to get over her split with Ashley Cole.  So now we end up with the fact that she has to take an enforced long break to recover fully because the total toll has weakened her immune system.  I sincerely hope she takes the advice given to her by consultants/medics seriously and that we will see her back before too long looking as gorgeous and beautiful as ever.  I think I speak for everyone on this site when I say "Cheryl, we wish you a speedy recovery back to full health as soon as possible and send you our best wishes.  Love from all of us at Joe McElderry.com"

Skeletal Cheryl Cole loses ½ stone

Doc bans ill star from dancing



FRAIL Cheryl Cole's weight has dramatically plunged HALF A STONE as she battles malaria, the News of the World can reveal.

The stricken X Factor judge is now just over 7 STONE and so thin that her bones poke out.

Her condition is so fragile that doctors have banned her from dancing - and it could be SIX MONTHS before she can do her strenuous stage routines again.
 
Last night a source said: "Cheryl is far too thin. She was 7½st to 8st before but she doesn't have any meat on her now. Her hip bones literally stick out. She won't be dancing for some time. Her routines were exhausting."

Cheryl's weight plummeted after she was struck down with malaria following a holiday in Tanzania with close dancer pal Derek Hough.

The skeletal 5ft 3in star has been put on a strict weight-gain programme as she recovers.

Her Body Mass Index has dropped from a healthy 19.8 to an underweight 17.4 - some model agencies insist models have a minimum of 18.5.

Cheryl, 27, is now recovering at her £6 million Surrey mansion helped by mum Joan Callaghan and Derek. The source added: "Cheryl understands that she now has to follow medical advice. Her ridiculously busy work routine is off so there's time for her to focus on getting healthy and putting the weight back on."

She has pulled out of the X Factor for a few months and the V Festival in August.

I think she is sensible enough to do so and to watch over her health very carefully. . . .  she just has to!  


I may add that Cheryl is in the dutch newspapers a lot too!

Can i just say do not believe anything in the papers! because everyone is saying something different so how can be sure that its true? and if a source or a "close friend" has said it then theres hardly any chance of it being true!

But Malaria is a serious desease and she really need to take her time recovering from it, that is the most important.

Yeah I agree with Taco, most important thing is she gets better. 

You are right though Alice, just seems like the press like putting Cheryl in the papers, one minute she is at deaths door, then she is home etc etc, no-one can make up their minds.  I am wary of all articles now.

yeah but thing is taco, on minuet she was at deaths door then th next she was fine and on the phone to Simon saying she can't wait to get back to work. something isn't right there. don't you think. and i know people can recover from malaria in about to weeks. some things just don't add up!

Yes you are right, and you must not believe what they are all saying.

I think what is true is that she is recovering and brought to a private clinic to further recover from her malaria, and that is what she needs.

Cheryl Cole to film X Factor 'judges houses' in Britain while Cowell and co go abroad

Cheryl Cole may be forced to film the ‘judges houses’ segment of the X Factor in Britain - as she could still be too poorly to travel.

The judges - Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, Cheryl and Dannii Minogue - normally jet away to somewhere exotic to whittle down their finalists.

However, as the fragile star continues to recover at home after battling Malaria, it has become clear that producers may have to amend their plans.

A show source told the Mail: ‘At this stage we are looking at different ways to make things as easy as possible for Cheryl.'

Last year, Mrs Cole, 27, who mentored the boys, whittled down her finalists in in Marrakech, Morocco, with the help of Will Young.

While Miss Minogue, 38, who was mentoring the Girls, was joined by her sister, pop star Kylie, in Dubai.

Simon Cowell took his Over 25 hopefuls to his house in Hollywood, with the help of Sinitta.

And Louis Walsh, who mentored the Groups, went to Tuscany, Italy, with Boyzone star Ronan Keating.

A source close to Mrs Cole added: ‘No decision has been made yet about judges homes. It's still some way off so we will see closer to the time.’

New mum Minogue, who gave birth to son Ethan earlier this month, is expecting to rejoin the show for the judges house at the end of August following her maternity leave.

Last week, Cowell, 50, admitted that the petite brunette was keen to return to work.

She missed the final X Factor auditions in Manchester - and will miss the boot camp auditions this week.

But Cowell said: ‘I think she is keen to get back to work. I just want to make sure she doesn't rush back too early.

'We're going to have a conversation about that.’

Meanwhile, the singer’s ex-husband, cheating Chelsea player Ashley Cole has continued to keep an eye on her progress as she battles the tropical disease.

Saturday and a friend told how he had cancelled a planned visit go Sin City, Las Vegas, because he thought it would be ‘over the top’, in light of Mrs Cole’s illness.

The multi-millionaire footballer is due to report back to Chelsea on July 26 – but the club may sell him to Real Madrid.

And his friend told the Mail ‘It’s not up to Ashley, he wants to stay at Chelsea, but there is a lot of uncertainty at the moment.

‘He still cares about Cheryl and even though they are divorcing, it would be wrench for him to move abroad.’

The rare form of the illness that Cheryl unfortunately contracted is very serious indeed. Intensive care beds are at a premium and would not have been used without due cause. The illness can recurr and can be fatal depending on how much damage has been done to vital organs.
Once treated and stabilised she would be able to be cared for at home. She is almost certainly fragile but I'm sure Simon Cowell will be aware of that. I thought she looked emotionally fragile at the end of Xfactor last year and that can also slow her progress.
I doubt Cheryl has given interviews to the press, they write what they like but I don't doubt she has been very ill.

I agree Canama... Journalists just write and make up stories, but I dont doubt she was very ill indeed. Im sure she is already getting better and better, although she will have a long way to full recovery.

I think Cheryl is just brilliant, gorgeous and one of the most genuine stars of them all, and I was very upset to hear she had malaria. Im very positive she will recover completely and very soon!
