My Newcastle X Factor Weekend 26/03/10

Hey Guys! Well, here is my review of my weekend in Newcastle. It's gonna be long, I may even puslish it as a novel haha! Tongue

So on Friday 26th of March, I woke up at 7am as I still had a lesson at college in the morning. I packed my script in my suitcase as I'd needed it for the lesson, and I had to take my suitcase to college, as I would be going straight from there to get on the coach. So everyone was asking me why I had a suitcase and I told everyone that I was going to Newcastle for the weekend. I told some people I was going to see the X Factor tour, but not all of them as they like 'alternative music' ugh lol.

So the lesson finished and I hung out with my best friend for half an hour before I had to go. So I walked out of college and got on the bus to go into town. There wasn't any room downstairs so I had to drag my suitcase up the stairs, bashing my knee on it in the process! I got into town and walked down to the coach station. I waited at the stop and noticed the timetable, and got all excited when I was reading through it. The coach was late, and I was a little worried. It turned up about 10 minutes after it was supposed to set off. I took my book out my suitcase so that I didn't get bored.

So we went through Mansfield, Doncaster Middlesborough etc. There was a guy sitting on the other side of the bus to me, and he was a Geordie, and he kept phoning someone every so often, and every time he did, I stopped reading my book to listen to him speaking! I then saw we were going through to Sunderland which was the last stop before going into Newcastle. As we were turning to go into the coach station at Newcastle, I saw a sign that said So. Shields and I nearly screamed! I got sad that we weren't going that way, but I thought hopefully, we will be when we go back that way. When we came out of the Sunderland coach station, we did go past the sign that said South Shields! I was frantically looking through the windows, trying to look at everything. I saw the Angel of the North and was smiling at it until we passed it. Everytime we turned a corner next to a sign that said Newcastle I kept getting excited. During going through Newcastle, I kept texting Mel and Hubz frantically, telling them I'd passed things. I went passed the Metro Arena and saw millions of people walking down the road going there! I then went past Newcastle college and again, nearly let out a scream!

We then pulled up at the coach station, and I got off the coach and collected my suitcase. I saw a taxi man sitting in his car, and I think he was just waiting for anyone who wanted to get in. I asked him if he knew where the Copthorne hotel was and he gave me directions. So I walked down the road and thought I'd ask someone else just to make sure. The guy was geordie, and I had to make sure I didn't smile or else he would have thought I was making fun of his accent lol. I carried on down the road and asked a woman, who looked like she was going to the arena to give me directions again. I was walking under a bridge when a girl who was in front of lots of others, obviously going the the arena asked me if I knew where the arena was in her Geordie accent! I pointed in the direction I thought it was and told her I wasn't actually from Newcastle so I wasn't sure lol. So I walked round the corner and saw the hotel up ahead. There were some women walking towards me with their little girls and they had pieces of paper that they'd painted on saying Joe and I smiled at the mums, in a way that they hopefully knew I loved Joe too! So as I was walking up to the hotel, I had a shock. Right next to it, was the Hilton! The hotel that the X Factor finialists were apparently staying in! So I walked into the hotel lobby and texted Hubz to tell her I was here. I texted my mum to tell her I'd arrived.

When it was time to go down to the arena, I packed my phone and camera in a little bag and got the birthday book. We got lost, as it was night time and we'd never been to the arena. We were walking around and suddenly we heard Joe singing! We grabbed onto each others arms and started running towards his voice! We found the arena and walked round to the back. We could hear Joe singing really clearly, and he sung Don't Let The Sun, The Climb, then we heard them singing You Are Not Alone. During the last song, lots of people started coming out, but we were already at the front of the gates. The whole of the back of the arena soon started filling up, and I was getting squished! We saw Jamie, Danyl, Olly, Lloyd, Jedward and Joe walking to the tour bus, they waved at us and got on the bus. We kept hearing screams from the other side, and one of the security men was telling us that if we wanted to get pictures with them, we'd have to go round the other side. I wasn't going to move, and I wouldn't have been able to if I wanted coz I was well and truly squished! We then saw three men in the distance. One was holding a camera and one was holding a mic. We saw Joe go over to them, but they just stood there. We were all screaming, and then Joe started walking over to us!!!! He came over to me first coz he saw that I was holding out the present. He said 'aw, is that for me?' and I said 'Yeah, but don't open it till your birthday!' He said 'aw thanks' and gave it to a production lady, so that he could sign stuff for people. He did some signing and took pictures, then took my camera to make sure I had a pic!

The camera crew kept telling us to scream and put our hands through the gates. When the guy with the mic walked past I shouted into it 'WE LOVE YOU JOE!' Joe then had to go so we all said bye. Then we saw Danyl sort of standing there so we were like 'come over, come here!' So he did and signed some things for people, he didn't get to everyone and he said 'Okay guys, I gotta go coz the tour bus is gonna go without me!' as he was running back I was shouting 'Run Danyl Run!' and everyone started shouting it too! So everyone started leaving and I phoned my mum and was telling her about meeting Joe but she didn't believe me! LOL We went in the wrong direction and had to find our way back to the hotel, we eventually found it after walking round in circles!

So we got up at 8am on Saturday morning and got ready then went down for breakfast. We then went out and found our way to the Hilton, pretty quickly. There were about 20 people waiting outside. Lucie came out at about half 10 so we went over to her. I was trying to get a picture, but I was being polite and letting everyone else get one instead. I kept standing behind Lucie, so everytime someone wanted a picture I had to duck down so I wasn't in the picture! I think Lucie was sent out as a distraction, as only me and Hubz saw Joe run out the hotel into the taxi. I didn't shout his name, coz everyone would have ran to him, which wouldn't have been fair. When he was safely in the taxi, some people were like 'Is that Joe?' and I was like 'Yeah, he just got in the cab.' But I don't think they believed me, but then they saw him in the cab and kept shouting him lol. Joe went off in the taxi, and we decided to wait around to see the other finalists. It was so cold, but the 'security' kept us entertained, as they kept telling everyone to stand back and everyone kept sneaking forward lol! Jamie, Olly, Lloyd etc came out and got straight onto the tour bus. Then Jedward came out and everyone just ran forward and literally got on top of the bus! It was so funny coz the two 'security' people were no match for that, so I think they gave up. Then when the tour bus went some girls actually ran all the way after it, and I don't think they stopped till they got to the arena!

So we went to the hotel to get ready, then made our way to the arena. I hoped we wouldn't get lost again, but we saw crowds of people again, so we just followed them. We got into the arena and got a diet coke. I hadn't had diet coke for like 2 days!! We weren't sure which doors we needed to go through for our seats. I just said that if we go through any door then ask the people who were in there. We went through a door that was right at the back of the arena and when we showed the woman where we were sitting she was like 'Well your not at the back thats for sure!' She showed us to our seats and we sat down. Everytime Joe's advert came on I screamed and then started waving my arms in the air like a lunatic, but I didn't care! Everything went dark, and like last time I jumped out of my seat! It was so much more exciting being closer. I screamed when Jamie and Danyl came up. Then Joe came through the floor and I was screaming like a nutter as usual!

I Gotta Feeling - loved it so much, but some stupid people behind were telling us to sit down! Dude, I came to have a good time not sit on my arse like a boring old fart. I said to Hubz 'They better not think I'm sitting down for Joe!' So at the end of the song the pyrotechnics went off and all thse blue and red streamers came down and we got coverered! Jeff came out and introduced Lloyd.

Lloyd Daniels - Cry Me A River - He's improved since I last saw him, and I think the song works really well for his voice, and he knew how to work the crowd.

Jamie Archer - Sex On Fire/Hurt - When Jamie came out I stood up and I wasn't going to sit down for nobody! The fire that was used was really hot, and it kept me nice and toasty haha! He knows how to rock the crowd, and I'd definately go to one of his gigs! He then sat down and did Hurt. I really love his voice on this song, and he totally made it his own.

Jedward - Under Pressure - I sat down at the end of Jamie but then Jedwards beginning music came on and compelled me to stand up. Everyone loved it and I agree it's entertaining, I was singing and dancing along and everything!

Danyl Johnson - Purple Rain - This time I knew it was Danyl next and I was screaming for him, love him so much. His voice can be a bit eeeshk at times but when he gets it right, it's amazing! He looked like he was really enjoying it up there too.

Mexican Wave - So much fun! Jeff's a great presenter and I loved watching the mexican wave go round. I was a bit scared of dropping my camera though!

Lucie Jones - Sweet Child O Mine/ This Is Me - Some performances of the night really stuck in my mind and her first song was one of them. She sings the first verse really well, at times she can be a bit screechy, but it was fun. I love this is me, and she sang it well, it was funny that the camera on the big screen froze on her at one point, and her face wasn't so attractive lol.

Olly Murs - Superstitious - He had me in stitches! He was hilarious with his dancing, probably not the reaction he wants but it was so funny. His shirt was open and I could see a great bit muff of chest hair! Yuck lmao! I love him singing this song as well and he always works really well with his backing dancers.

Lloyd Daniels - Stand By Me/Beautiful Girls - Loved it. All the girls were screaming, and the song suits his voice. He even caught my eye at one point and we were singing to each other! lol. Really wish he had more songs, and I'm sure lots of the screaming fangirls would agree haha!

Jedward - Rock DJ - Vocals were horrid as usual but I was singing so loud over the top couldn't really hear them lol. I nearly fell on the floor when I saw some man only in underpants with a really oily body just standing on the stage! No idea what he was there for but it was hilarious!

Stacey Solomon - The Scientist - Love her singing this song. She did go a bit common and a bit Lilly Allenish at times, but when she was singing it properly she sounded really nice.

Wanna Be Startin Somethin - Really energetic song, had everyone dancing along, and I loved that Danyl did the full routine with the backing dancers while the others were singing!

Jedward - Ghostbusters - The beginning was funny as Danyl was really acting like 'omg whats going on!' and Olly was aswell. Then the big marshmallow man got blown up and Jedward flew across the audience. As the were doing it, more streamers started to fall on us but they were coming down slowly and I was like 'NOOOOO!' Lol. Again we got covered!

Stacey Solomon - Queen of The Night - There were times when Stacey looked uncomfortable but she showed that she can be sexy and...walk across the stage...in heels!

Danyl Johnson - Man In The Mirror/With a Little Help From My Friends - He got all the audience singing along with man in the mirror and it was amazing! It was funny that when he was at the piano for the second song he paused and took his jacket off and everyone, including me, went mental! Olly and Jamie came out and Jamie went over to the backing singers and looked really happy up on the stage.

Stacey Solomon - Who Wants To Live/Wonderful World - Flawless vocals from Stacey as usual, I love this song more and more everytime I hear her singing it. She then started Wonderful World and invited Lucie on. She looked a bit uncomfortable inviting her on, don't think she's good at the public speaking thing lol. Lucie's voice sounded okay when singing the verse on her own, but when the two girls sung together, it was clear that Stacey had more control over her voice.

Olly Murs - Fool In Love/Twist and Shout - Again he had me laughing so much at his dancing, and his voice is average but sounded good for this song. I love twist and shout and I was up singing and dancing and I laughed so much when he wiggled his bum at us!

Joe McElderry - OMG! I was nearly bawling when his journey came on! Then the voice over man started introducing him and I was screaming my head off. He appeared on the stage and I was going mental! He had so much energy in his first song, and the atmosphere was amazing! He then introduced Love Story and at one point caught my eye and was singing to me, whilst I was crying lol! Sorry Seems to be and She's out of my life were amazing vocals, and everyone just listened to him singing. Don't let the sun was amazing and flawless!! Then the Climb. Gahh, love him singing this, such an emotional song. Instead of waving my arms I was punching my arm up in the air, he saw me and laughed and started doing the same thing. When he went off stage I got really sad lol.

You Are Not Alone - Amazing. Everyone who came on got cheers of support which was nice. Joe came through the doors and everyone cheered for him. When it came to near the end of the song, all the little bits started coming down. I was trying to sing and one got caught in my mouth and I nearly choked on it lol. The the song finished and I was like 'Noooooo!'

We went round the back of the arena but no one came out. I kinda knew they wouldn't actually come out to sign stuff. But I hoped that loads of people would dissapear and Danyl and Lloyd would come out on their fag break but they didn't. We started walking back to the hotel, and people were already queueing up for the evening show! We went back to arena that night and saw some of them getting on the tour bus, but none of them came over, so it was lucky that we went there on Friday night!

We woke up early on Sunday morning and went to have breakfast. We went to the Hilton again and this time went inside. As we were about to go in, Jamie got off the tour bus and went straight into the hotel, but I wasn't brave enough to shout his name and ask for a picture. We saw Jedward talking to some fans and then went back into the lift. We found Helen, a lady from the official site and we sat down in the lobby with her and her mum. Some fans were waiting at the lifts and Danyl, Olly and Lloyd came down had some pictures with them and went to the tour bus, but again I was too shy to go over and ask for a picture. John came down and was signing things for some people. I had promised my sister that I would try and get Jedward to give her a shoutout, so I thought I have to ask. So I went up to John and after he'd had a pic with someone I asked him to say Hi to my lil sis on my camera. He said 'Hey Tamsin, hey 9 year old (I laughed at that) Happy Birthday for when your 10. It's John from John and Edward, Edwards not here right now he's packing his bags coz we're going to Dublin! Okay bye Tamsin, bye!' I said thanks and went to sit back down. Edward came down, and as I was feeling braver now, I asked for a picture with him.

I had to leave about 5 minuts after that. I didn't get to see Joe again, but I was so happy and grateful that he'd come out on Friday night and I'd got to meet him for the first time, have a picture with him, and got to give him his birthday present!
