Joe's management and future album.
« on: February 08, 2010, 09:20:50 PM »

Hi everyone, I don't post on here very often but I do enjoy reading this site. I've been watching and reading and thinking since Joe won the X Factor and for various reasons have some concerns with the way Joe appears to be managed and promoted. A good example of this is looking at the webpage of Joe's management company:

http://www.modestmanagement.com/
Its illuminating if you click on the link on that page to "Check out this years lists of Xfactor finalists managed by Modest, Xfactor ITV." The page at the end of that link is blank.
In contrast these are Jedwards managers.

Big difference isn't there? Bear in mind it has been 2 months since the X Factor finished.

So folks what do you reckon we do our best to nudge Modest in the right direction with Joe? The most important thing for Joe's future is his album. The most important thing for his record company is who are Joe's fans? What is his demographic? Who is going to buy Joe's album? Well just in case they don't know (and I really don't think they're sure!) we can help them with that can't we? Why don't we all send e-mails to Modest telling them who we are and the type of music we'd like to hear on Joe's album. Please remember the e-mails must be polite. Ideally they'll contain the types of people (age, interests etc) we are and the sort of music we like and also the sort of music we don't like. I think general types of music would most helpful including of course very few covers!

I agree with your concerns about Joe's management etc. Another example is the official website; this was set up with little admin presence   and no moderators so, obviously some of the comments posted in the week after he won ( in particular with regard to the RATM campaign,  were absolutely vile. What upset me was the thought that ultimately Joe's paying for that, the costs of the company that is running  the site will,  I'm sure out of his £1 million contract.

As for the album, I think Joe himself has to be the one that sets the tone and makes the decisions - it's his music and he has to be comfortable with all the choices that are made
