It's funny because The X Factor is supposed to be about the winner getting a 1 million pound recording contractm and every year, the winner AND about 4 other finalists get a contract, so it defeats the point a bit. It's obviously unfair that those three are getting pushed aside, but if they stuck to the rules and only the winner gets a contract, these guys would have known that if they didn't win, they don't get a recording contract. Pretty sure all three of them have just been like, it's okay I didn't win, but I'll be getting a contract any day now, and then this happens. But I'm glad Simon is focusing on Joe, always thought he'd get Danyl a recording contract and push Joe aside, but thankfully he knows where his priority lies, in the winner. X x

I don't really see what all the fuss is about to be honest. The X factor only ever guarantees a recording contract for the winner, so just because other finalists have got recording contracts in the past, doesn't mean that it should automatically just happen this year. I think unfortunately, the fact that other finalists do usually get recording contracts, has meant that Olly, Stacey and Danyl probably just assumed that they would get one, so this probably is a bit of a blow for them, but it is not Simon Cowell's fault. The rules of the show are that only the winner is guaranteed a contract, and so he doesn't have to give a recording contract to anyone else. Although I feel sorry for that other finalists, I am glad that Simon is focusing on Joe, because it shows that he really believes in him, and obviously is sure that Joe can be very successful. If Simon had doubts about Joe, then i'm sure he would have signed up some of the others aswell, but he hasn't so I think this is good news for Joe, as he knows he has Simon's full support.

I think it should be that ONLY the winner gets a contract because it makes the competition a bit more exciting. It also encourages people to up their game and put in their best performances. It really should be winner takes all. I know it's easy to say that after Joe has won, and I am so glad he did because the thought of never seeing him again is horrible.

i dont think its unfair at all. i think it is just right. joe won the show, the promise is that the winner gets the contract, and cowells full attention.
and thats what joe deserves and should get!

I Agree, only the winner is grantueed the recording contract. I wish them all well tho.
I am annoyed that Jedward have a contract when they can't sing, if they gave a deal to anyone it should have been Olly, Stacey or Danyl. If Joe would have been second and Simon would have given Jedward a contract and not Joe, I would be fuming.
JLS are not on Simon's label but are the most successful second place act from the X factor, so there is still hope. x

I had not seen this posting when I posted in another section, but I must admit i 100% agree.
Joe is the winner and he really does deserve all the attention, and it is wonderful to think that Simon believes in him so much to devote himself totally to Joe.
Joe is going to be a superstar, there is a big gap in the market for somebody as lovely and talented as he is and we all want him around for a very long time.
Long may Joe reign.
I love him to bits, ervery little thing about the young man.
I am just pig sick, that I am not going to the X Factor Tour and will miss seeing him live!!!!
xx

I agree it should be the winner only who is guarenteed a recording contract, and it does say other people in the music industry are interested in them and I wish them all Good Luck.
The one thing we know about Simon Cowell is that he is a very successful business man and he realises just how special Joe is or he wouldn't be investing all this time with him. Yes the Factor winner is guarenteed a million pound record contract but not success. I think Simon knows he's onto a winner with Joe.

Joe didnt just win X Factor he anihilated them with over 60% of votes in the final and won the last 5 votes hands down. Simply he was voted the best by a long way. People like Olly cannot complain, look at past winners like Leon and The Pizza Guy Brookstein.
There is something special about Joe, people are saying he could be a bublé or mccartney, they werent saying this about leon etc.
Its right and proper than like Leona, Joe is given the full backing of Syco and Sony. He is probably the most popular winner of the show ever. If he can do what leona has done, he could be the most successful too and that would be an amazing story.
