Glamnation tour - Adam Lambert

My BF surprised me with Adam Lambert tickets in september. I heard he was touring in Europe and was looking and searching the web when he would come to Holland. I almost gave up hope, because I saw so many dates in Scandinavia, Germany and the UK so I thought there was not much room for a concert in my small country.
So you can imagine my surprise when I got the tickets in my hands. Huge surprise!

Today was the day. I have been resting almost all day to save my energy. I’m getting better and better each day, but I still have soms recovering to do and get my strength back.
Mr Bf drove us to Amsterdam and we parked our car, walked towards Leidse plein , where we wanted to eat something. We walked along Paradiso, where Adam would perform and much to our surprise hundreds of people were already waiting in front of the entrance.. with blankets, small chairs and food and drinks. I never knew Adam was that popular in Holland and to be honest I thought it was a bit ridiculous, cause Paradiso is such a great stage, you can see the artist very well even standing at the back. Paradiso used to be a church, and has been the ‘Poptemple’ of the Netherlands. Lots of artists love to perform there, and I saw so many great and intimate concerts there, I just love the place.It is a very laid back place and the accoustic is outstanding.

We had a nice dinner at Wagamama and after that we walked back to Paradiso again. The doors would open at 7pm and when they did, a lot of people fighted their way in with lots of screaming and hitting and stuff. Unbelievable! We just waited our turn to get in and in all quietness we still were standing only 7/8 meters in front of the stage.
I never seen so much different types of people in a crowd. There were some gothic people in black, old rockers, young screaming girls, gays..I even saw an older woman in ballroom dress with a fur scarf Grin

8.30 pm the crowd got loud and finally the lights were out...The music started and there he was.. very theatratically dressed, loved his hat with feathers..and from note one I was in a state of ... well cant really describe it. His band is really really good.. I loved his drummer and of course his bassplayer, cutie Tommy Joe Ratliff. He had 4 dancers, wich were also really really good. But although everyone on stage was really really good, Adam himself is outstanding. His stage presence is awesome, he works his body , he dances, he connects with his audience, he flirts, he makes funny remarks, he gets the crowd going and gets us to do that what he wants us to do... all is great and awesome..but...I have no words for his voice though.. its just incredible. I have been to loads of concerts, have seen loads of singers peforming live.. but I can honestly say that Adam has the best voice in the business by far.
Half way his set he did an accoustic version of Whataya want from me and without the brilliant musicians, he is at his best.. what a voice, what A VOICE! Having said that, I thought it could not get better then this..he started my favourite song.. Soaked.. only with his keyboardplayer...and his VOICE.. half way the song he paused for a while and the crowd went crazy..he was only standing there, but you could see in his eyes his was loving every second of it..he finished the song acapella, without any musicians, and I had difficulties not to fall apart. I had tears in my eyes..it was spinetinkling and the best I have ever heard in my life.
I thought this was the highlight of the show.. but I was wrong.. His dancers returned, his musicians returned and they played like it was their last concert. It was simply amazing. He ended with steaming version of If I had you. Of course it was too short, of course we wanted more, and we got more.. He returned, did a laid back version of Purple Haze with everyone on stage sharing a joint and ended with a very sexy version of Led Zeppeline’s Whole lotta love.

It was simply stunning, Adam is a real entertainer, he owns the stage with his presence, his sexy moves,his danceroutines.. but his main attraction is the voice.
During his songs he got lots of cheers when he reached the high notes or when he belted out his strong powerfull lines.
We stayed a while after the concert ended , I really needed a drink, I was still shaking, so I sat down and drank my first beer in months..Gosh..that went down LOL.. We talked to some other fans and it was just fun to see how excited they all were. The woman I let stand in front of me, because she was a lot shorter then me, gave us a beer to thank me for it, and she turned out to be a lot of fun.
Finally we were ordered to get out and on the streets lots of fans, hundreds I think , were still waiting by the tourbus, to see Adam leave, but we decided to go home.
2 girls stopped and asked me what that fuss was about, why all those people were standing there. I said they were waiting to see Adam Lambert leave.. they said WHO? I told them a few things about him and said it was the most amazing concert Ive seen , for only 16 euro’s. I ordered them to youtube his name to just hear his voice...I said, you may not like the songs, you may not like his style of music...but I was sure that they would agree that he has an amazing voice.. Awww one of the girls said.. you are really a fan! How sweet, I will youtube him tomorrow.

What a lovely end to e perfect evening. Im exhausted, but would not have missed it for the world.
