he's done really well, especially when some of the other songs have had many months and he's only had two weeks I'm a bit dissapointed ratm are no.7 though.

I'm not dissapointed...I'm confused. Joe sold 646,000 after two weeks, and obviously sold more before the last day of 2009. RATM sold 579,000 after two weeks, and obviously sold a few more before 2009 was over. Therefore, all these chart people compiled these lists when Joe's song had only been out for 1 week, so that's why he is below ratm in the chart, but why haven't they counted the second week of figures where Joe got to number 1 and outsold ratm, and why haven't they counted the figures of the last days of 2009, where I am sure Joe would have overtaken La Roux. The charts can compile all the songs into 1 list in less than a day for the top 40, so why couldn't they have done that for this list because it isn't accurate and Joe should be 5 at the most, 6 at the least!

yeah. i'm quite shocked too.  maybe its becasue his 2nd week of sales counted towards the singles chart that ends tomorrow, which means it is not entirely in 2009, if you get what i mean. I think its still unfair though, as the actual sales were in 2009. I can't think of any other reason, because as you said, it is not that difficult to compile an up to date list .

I think the chart that Sophie was referring to is not the official chart of 2009 (IMHO). The real chart of 2009 which will include this week's sales will probably be released on monday.
