Does anybody know how Joe is doing sales wise this week?
It would be great if he was the 1stNo. 1 of the new decade.

I really doubt he is gonna be number 1 in Sunday. He is number 10 on iTunes ATM, and Lady GaGa is number 1.

according to the sun, he has been knocked off the top spot by lady gaga. apparently his download sales have been pretty poor this week.

I think most people who wanted him to get to number 1 just bought it loads last week! I do like 'Bad Romance' aswell as 'The Climb' though. At least he did get to number 1. Xxx

He's done really well to get to number one anyway, and it seems to me that it is difficult for anyone at no.1 for any length of time nowadays.

I do kind of like lady gaga though, so i am not too disapointed if she's knocked im off the top spot.

Joe was #2 in yesterday midweek's sales :

1. Lady GaGa : bad romance
2. Joe McElderry : the climb
3. The Black Eyed Peas : meet me halfway
4. Ke$ha : tik tok
5. Cheryl Cole ft. Will.I. Am : 3 words

The last 4 winners of X Factor have experienced huge sales drops between their 2nd and 3rd week : -59% for Shayne Ward, -70% for Leona Lewis, -73% for Leon Jackson and -66% for Alexandra Burke so unless Joe does worse than Leon, he'll sell at least 50k. And if (by chance) he does as good as Shayne Ward, he'll sell 80k.

Even in that case, that won't be enough to pass in front of Cheryl Cole's 'Fight for this love'. Joe will be at #5 in the YEC with around 700k copies, which is a good result (but, to be honest, I was expecting better sales ).

Songs can go back up to number one if they drop a place or two, but it rarely happens. It could also happen to Joe after he goes down.
