When Joe Mcelderry walked out onto that stage in a Manchester theatre last year little did he know then what would eventually come to pass. He entered the X Factor auditions more in hope than expectation. He wanted to make his parents proud and to secure a future in singing, something which lies close to his heart.
He hoped to get through the auditions and go to bootcamp with the goal of graduating to the live finals if he could. When Cheryl Cole selected him for those live finals he hoped that he would progress through the competition but never expected to graduate to the final. When he reached the final he finally dared to hope that he could win the X Factot title. The rest is history. Little does he know the true significance of his being here.
