Joe McElderry has revealed he keeps in regular contact with X Factor mentor Cheryl Cole, stating she’s eager to support his career.

“Cheryl texts me all the time,” Now quotes him as saying. “She said, ‘If you ever have a moment where you have a bit of a wobble… just give me a ring.’

“I feel like if I was having a crisis or something, I could phone Cheryl.”

“We chat all the time – late night, mornings, whenever,” he said. “I think we’ll still be friends in ten years’ time.”
