Joe McElderry Could Get Single Of The Year

Joe McElderry has an outside chance of becoming the top selling single of 2009 with his debut release ‘The Climb’ reports Musicweek. Joe needs to sell upwards of 221,000 singles between Monday of this week and this coming Sunday. Sales are expected to be good this week with people using vouchers received as Christmas Presents.

The Climb is the 14th Number 1 attained by an X Factor act and looks set to become one of the biggest sellers in history from the TV Series. Joe McElderry has Lady Gaga’s Poker Face to beat if he is to claim the number 1 title as the most sold single of 2009.
